Poland has implemented Directive 95/46/EC for data protection, as outlined by the Personal Data Protection Act of 29 August 1997 that was put in place by the European Union. This directive protects an individuals personal data, and is enforced by the Polish Bureau of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection. Under this directive, individuals should always provide consent prior to the collection of data, unless the law suggests otherwise.
